Forest Green Rovers can confirm that Matt Tubbs has left The New Lawn having sealed a permanent transfer to National League outfit Sutton United.

The striker made 12 appearances for Forest Green and found the net on two occasions.

Signed in July from League Two side Portsmouth, the 32-year-old spent a part of this season on loan at Woking, where he registered three times in front of goal in six appearances for the Cards.

He made his final appearance for the club in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Wrexham as a second half substitute.

A gentleman’s agreement between Forest Green and Sutton means he will not be able to play when the two sides next meet later on in the season.
