Jim O’Brien says he sympathises with centre-back Ben Turner over his injury problems that have stopped him playing a part in Notts County’s promotion push.
Turner has been ruled out of action for the next six to eight weeks after aggravating his calf while trying to recover from a hamstring problem he sustained before Christmas.
In between of those injuries, the big centre-back, who was in superb form, then had a brief spell in hospital after suffering from illness.
Notts are hoping the defender will be in a position to make a return in April when the season enters its climax with the club hoping to seal a place in the playoffs.
And O’Brien, who has suffered several months on the sidelines himself this season due to a broken arm and a severe gash to his thigh, knows what Turner is going through.
“I’ve got loads of sympathy for Ben,” he said.
“He was coming back from his hamstring then he’s tweaked something else.”
