Bishop Auckland have signed attacking midfielder James Fairley from EBAC Northern League rivals Jarrow Roofing.
The move was completed on Thursday night and Fairley will go straight into the Two Blues squad for their FA Vase tie at Bedlington Terriers on Saturday.
Fairley joined Roofing in 2015 from Durham City and was named Northern League Young Player of the Year award in 2012-13 during his time at Whitley Bay.
He also helped fire Washington to promotion into the Northern League’s top tier in the 2014/15 season.
Bishops manager Steve Riley spoke to the club’s official website about the deal and said ‘We have had a great start to the season which we want to maintain and we believe signing James will add further quality to the squad and provide great competition for places in the team’
After completing his move to Bishop Auckland, Fairley thanked his former club for his time there and speaking to the Roofing website he said “I’ve had great 11 months at Roofing and I would like to thank everyone at the club.
“It’s been a pleasure gracing the turf with the lads but I’m ready for a new challenge.”
Roofing also confirmed the departure of defender Michael Laws on Friday, as he joined West Auckland Town.
