Macclesfield Town have signed defender Callum Evans on loan from Championship side Barnsley.

Evans joined Barnsley from Manchester United in the summer of 2015.

He penned a one-year deal with an option of a second year which was taken up and he has since made two first-team appearances for the Tykes, having featured for their under-21s.

He had been at Old Trafford throughout his youth career, the Bristolian signing his first pro deal with the Reds in 2013.

The 21-year-old moves to the Moss Road on loan for the remainder of the season.
