Tiverton Town striker Jordan Rogers has thanked fans for their support following his horror injury.
The striker collided with the St Neot’s goalkeeper early on during Tivvy’s 2-1 win on Saturday and was briefly knocked unconscious, suffering 10 facial fractures.
After originally being rushed to a hospital in Cambridgeshire, he was transferred to Bristol Royal Infirmary, where he is awaiting an operation.
In a statement, released through assistant manager Colin Nation, he said: “Thank you to everyone for your kind messages of support over the last few days, it was really helped.
“Just to update you all, I have 10 fractures, including nose, eye sockets and jaw. I am still in hospital and feeling a lot better than I was.
“The swelling has gone down enough for me to have an operation, possibly Thursday.
“From there, the road back to recovery starts and I will hopefully get a target in my head for a return.”
