Josh Venney is set to join his Grimsby Town team-mate Max Wright at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Sutton Coldfield Town on an initial one-month loan deal.
The young midfielder is yet to feature in Sky Bet League Two for the Mariners. The Royals travel to face Frickley Athletic on Saturday.
Wright made a scoring debut against Ilkeston FC last week, scoring from what he described as a bad cross.
