York City have confirmed that Reece Thompson has left Bootham Crescent by mutual consent.
The striker joined the Minstermen last summer from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Frickley Athletic and went on to score 3 goals in seventeen appearances.
The 22-year-old, who was originally with Retford United and Lincoln City, has now joined league rivals North Ferriby United.
