Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio believes it was crucial for the club to keep captain Scott Leather.

Having joined the club back in 2016, the former Altrincham man has now committed to the Magpies for next season.

Speaking to the National League North side’s website, Vermiglio said:

“Scotty’s a huge part of what we’re putting together for the new season, and his leadership qualities on and off the field are going to be vitally important once again.

“His consistency, intensity and desire to win inspires everyone around him.”
