Gary Waddock confirmed Aldershot Town will not be looking to sign Peterborough United’s Ricky Miller, who has also been linked with Notts County, Lincoln City, Barnet, Grimsby Town and Mansfield Town in the past month.
In December Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed that six clubs from League Two alone had enquired after the former Dover Athletic hotshot. Miller has yet to score for Peterborough since joining them from Dover in the summer.
He has made just a handful of appearances for Posh with off-the-field issues, including a court appearance in November, disrupting his start to life at London Road. And while Waddock admits he is an admirer of the striker’s abilities, he feels that Miller is financially out of reach to National League promotion-chasers Aldershot.
“Definitely not,” Waddock said of the possibility of making a move for Miller. “He is a good player but no, we wouldn’t be able to do anything.
“It would be a financial issue. He is a good player and has a good record at this level so I think that a number of clubs would be interested in him but he is a little bit too far out of our reach [financially].”
