Surrey Live say Gary Waddock admits he has had talks about remaining at Aldershot Town for the 2019-20 season but insists he would have “no interest” in going part-time.

After a tough season the Shots’  relegation to the National League South was confirmed last week, but Waddock is not ruling out staying with the club and says he has already had several meetings with chairman Shahid Azeem about his future.

And Waddock believes the Shots must retain their full-time   status after relegation, otherwise they wouldn’t be “taking the club forward”.

“I’m not the decision-maker but decisions have to be made soon because we are coming towards the end of the season, we have one fixture to go and players’ contracts are up, and players that the club will need to bring in are out there ready and pre-season needs to be planned thoroughly. So it needs to happen sooner rather than later,” Waddock said.
