Wantage Town manager Matt Biddle has backed outgoing assistant boss Sean McKeon’s decision to resume playing.

Biddle told the club’s website: “After several conversations with Seano over the last few months, it came as no surprise in the end that his motivation to get back playing was increasing the fitter he was getting whilst in lockdown.

“As much as I would have liked to try and sway him to stay with us in management and continue the good work we have done so far, I didn’t feel it was my place to do so, as these type of decisions should always be based on what makes you happy as an individual.

“I can completely level with his reasons to go back playing, as I would probably do the same if I could.”
