Ware FC have been boosted by the news that top scorer Kieran Bishop has signed a contract with the club.
The news was confirmed with a statement on the club website on Thursday afternoon. It read:
“A run of seven consecutive scoring games which has made him the top scorer in the Division One (Central) has inevitably brought Kieran to the attention of other clubs.
To ensure they think twice and to thank Kieran for his loyalty as he approaches 100 appearances in a Ware shirt it was decided to offer him a contract for the rest of the season. Kieran put pen to paper on Tuesday night and is now committed to the club for the immediate future.
The side has now taken shape under Ken Charlery and he is anxious not to have it broken up as the season enters its final phase. A play-off spot may now be remote but we have Egham and Aylesbury to come at home and Royston and St Ives away so at the very least we can have quite a say on the make up of the play-off places”
