Yannick Kamanan has joined Ware from the southern suburbs of Paris, where most recently he played for L’Entente Sportive Viry-Châtillon.
They play in the Championnat de France Amateur, commonly referred to as simply CFA – effectively the fourth tier in the French league system.
Use of the word “Amateur” seems misleading as Yannick was on contract with the club until very recently.
In fact he has quite a career record having played and scored in the Champions League.
Although French born, Yannick came to Spurs in 1999 as a youth player before going on his travels firstly back to France with Strasbourg and Dijon, and then moving on to such clubs as Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel and Sivasspor, then in the top flight of the Turkish League.
That was followed by time at Gabal in Azerbaijan and then another return to France.
He has already impressed in training with his skill and even Murat has been taken aback by Yannick’s level of fitness that belies his 35 years.
