Sutton Coldfield Town manager Neil Tooth has signed George Washbourne and took his new signings for the upcoming campaign up to six.
Washbourne signs after playing the majority of last seasons campaign at Chasetown but also lists Evesham Utd, Nuneaton Town, Forest Green Rovers and Stourbridge amongst his former clubs.
Tooth had the following to say about his new recruit, “George is someone that we tried to sign last season but after an error on our behalf we were not able to get the deal done.
George was at the very top of my wanted list and we have managed to get the deal over the line after he turned down a number of other offers. George will give us balance as he can operate as a left winger but is just as comfortable coming in from the right or playing central.
He is also a local lad and with his dad being a former player I’m sure he will fit right in and be a huge player for us this season.”
Washbourne commented “I am delighted to sign for my local club having moved back home from Uni. I was very impressed with the set up and facilities and after listening to the managers plans for the new season I cant wait to get started and meet the boys”
Tooth also revealed that he had agreed a deal with another player and he will release the details once all the paperwork has been signed later this week.
