Steve Watson is optimistic the Silkmen can turn around a rough patch of form as they bid for a play-off place heading into the new year.

The Silkmen lost 1-0 to league leaders Forest Green Rovers last weekend, and were unlucky not to earn a better result, having created a host of chances after going behind in the opening minutes of the game.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Aldershot this weekend, Watson is expecting a tough game but is confident Macc can get a result.

He said: “We watched Aldershot last week because they played against Forest Green in the game before and they are a good side.

“They are a very good team and it will be a tough game.

“They gave Forest Green a good game so we will be expecting a tough afternoon.

“But we haven’t done too bad away from home this season and we will go there feeling confident.

“It’s important that you don’t get too down when you lose and that you don’t get carried away when you win and we haven’t done that.”
