Macclesfield Town assistant manager Steve Watson has said how delighted the Football Club are to sign up Mitch Hancox on a new deal.
Hancox signed a new deal earlier in the week which will keep him at the Moss Rose for another 18 months. The 23-year old has been playing as a holding midfielder for
John Askey’s side and has impressed in recent weeks.
Macc formerly signed the former Birmingham City left-back in the Summer following his release from Blues.
Watson told mtfc.co.uk that Mitch has been ‘outstanding’ and is thrilled that the club could come to a new agreement.
He said: “When Mitch came in at first, he had virtually played very little 90 minute games. We threw him straight into the hat and it caught up with him after four or five games but since we put him into centre midfield against Walsall- he’s been outstanding.
“He just needs to curb that tackling enthusiasm he has because of the modern-day game!
“He’s the right age, he has the right mentality for Macc Town and he’s a huge asset for us.”
