Macclesfield Town assistant Manager Steve Watson admits it was a frustrating night last night after the Wrexham game was called off.
Adverse weather conditions meant that the pitch at the Moss Rose was unplayable after a torrential down pour before kick-off.
Watson revealed that the Silkmen were looking forward to the game after picking up three points away at Bromley last weekend.
Speaking to MTFC.co.uk, Watson said: “We were looking forward to it, we came off the back of a good result at Bromley.
“It had been a warm day and then we saw the weather coming which was good for us because it would wet the pitch because we like a nice slick pitch little did I know it was never going to stop
“The lads are frustrated, me, John and the staff are frustrated but there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Watson who has been involved in football for over 25 years first as a player and then as a coach at various Championship side’s revealed that he has never seen anything like it before.
“I’ve seen games called off but that’s been because its rained for days not a flash flood that has lasted two and a half hours it was pretty intense.”
