Steve Watson expressed his delight for Jake Cassidy as the striker grabbed his first York City goal in the 3-0 win at Blyth Spartans, York Press say.
Cassidy headed home York’s third following strikes from Michael Woods and Harry Bunn to seal City’s biggest win since September last year.
Having not scored since signing for the club in the summer from Stevenage, the manager was pleased that the target man could get off the mark.
“If you’re striker isn’t scoring it gets mentioned,” said Watson. “I know the work rate that Jake puts in and out of the box, working both channels and running relentlessly.”
