Maccelsfield Town assistant manager Steve Watson is hopeful of bringing in more new additions to the Silkmen squad, as the team push on for a playoff spot.

Macclesfield have recruited Luke Summerfield, Andy Haworth and  Connor Jennings in recent weeks, following the departures of Danny Rowe, Paul Lewis and Jack Mackreth.

Despite this, Watson believes that the squad can benefit from further signings, saying:

“We’re still hoping to bring a couple of players in. I know we’ve made three good additions to the squad, but we’ve also lost three in January, and then the two we had have gone back injured (Danny Whitehead and Anthony Dudley) so we’re still two players less than we were at the start of the transfer window.

“We’re still pushing to try and bring in two or three more players just to make the squad competitive in this spell in February where the games are coming thick and fast, so we’re still on the lookout and hopefully between us all we can come up with some kind of agreement because to get to where we need to be we do need a bit more strength and depth”.
