Andy Watson and Evo-Stik NPL club Ilkeston FC have parted company by mutual agreement.
Watson joined the Robins in June 2015 as Assistant to Gavin Strachan.
He would take over as interim Head Coach on 16th October when Strachan made the move to Doncaster Rovers to join up with Darren Ferguson.
Watson’s tenure as Head Coach started with a 3-1 home victory against Buxton and the club then went on a run of five victories in a row.
Following an indifferent run of results during December and January, Watson would also see his side suffer nine defeats in a row.
This coincided with the release of eight first team squad players just two days after the 1-0 defeat away to Blyth Spartans.
Despite the poor league form, Watson guided his team to the Semi Final of the Integro Doodson League Cup, where they would suffer an agonising defeat after a penalty shootout.
Watson got his side back on track with a league win over Whitby Town and have now won three out of the last four league games and go into the final day of the season in 14th place.
An announcement will be made shortly regarding a successor and the club confirmed that they part on good terms with Watson.
Talks are also in place with several current first team players with a view to secure their services for next season.
