Ebbsfleet United boss Kevin Watson wants to bring in as many as four players this month.

The Fleet are in desperate need of a shake-up following last weekend’s seven-goal National League mauling at leaders Barrow.

Ebbsfleet named ex-Gillingham boss Steve Lovell – who applied for the managerial job when they appointed Watson in October – as director of football on New Year’s Day.

They’ve already been turned down by two players, including a potential loan move for Gills left-back Bradley Garmston, but landed Jermaine McGlashan on Wednesday.

“I’d like to get three or four players in,” said Watson, speaking ahead of that signing.

“We’re looking and trying but it’s will players want to come to us with where we are in the table, and do they have the right character?

“We’ve been turned down by two players already but you have to keep knocking at the door and see where it takes us.”
