Steve Watt has said that he does want the Maidstone United manager’s job, but feels it isn’t right to apply for it.

The former Chelsea player and Margate boss was brought in as assistant to Jay Saunders, who left the club recently following a highly successful tenure.
Watt told Kent Online that he does not feel it would be right for him to apply for the role, though he certainly would like to take it. He said:
“I won’t apply for it. If the club want to sit down and talk to me, that’s a different thing but I think the club need to make the decision who they want.
“If they want to speak to me, brilliant, but I certainly won’t be applying for it. I don’t think it’s right considering the situation.
“If they want to give me it, I’d be honoured and grateful.”
