Tranmere Rovers midfielder Jay Harris says it is a great emotion to win a match in the dying moments of the game after he helped Rovers to a 3-2 victory over Chester FC.

The midfielder came on as a replacement for the injured Lois Maynard in the first half and got himself on the scoresheet with a stunning strike from outside the box before Andy Cook’s 89th minute winner.

He told Tranmere Player HD: “We love the derbies and we left it late but there’s no better feeling than a victory in the last minute.

“The belief is there, we are chasing Lincoln down and tonight showed our character.

“Momentum is a big thing in football and this result will send out a big message to the teams around us that we will not fold easily.”
