Tom Cherry believes Barwell have the ability to compete with the very top sides in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.
Despite losing to Warrington Town on Saturday, the coach saw plenty of positives from the performances, but was frustrated by the side’s inability to get on the scoresheet.
He pinpointed several results, particularly against relegation-threatened clubs, which have derailed the Canaries’ possible play-off push late in the campaign.
“We’ve given away silly results, that’s the problem,” admits Cherry.
“People who have watched the game today (Saturday) will know they’re no better than us.
“If we took our chances, we’d have got something out of the game. That would’ve meant we picked up four or six points against a side set to finish in the play-offs.
“It’s bad results against teams at the lower end that have cost us. Losses to Ilkeston, Frickley and Sutton Coldfield, who are all in the bottom four, has taken points away from us”.
