West Bromwich Albion are eyeing Hednesford Town star Lewis Archer as they hope to unearth the next non-league gem, report the Shropshire Star.

Attacker Archer has been impressive for the Pitmen in the Northern Premier this season, scoring a stunning solo goal against Whitby Town a few weeks ago.

He also netted in Saturday’s 3-1 FA Cup victory at Rugby Town.

However, Archer is under contract with the Pitmen and they are understood to have turned down the Baggies’ bid to take him on trial.
