James Sigsworth has joined West Didsbury & Chorlton’s squad and will go into contention for Tuesday’s game away at New Mills AFC.

Formerly of Daten FC and Atherton Collieries, he joins from Ashton Town, who currently sit second in the North West Counties Division One North.

Speaking on confirmation of the deal, manager Brad Cooke said: “Siggy is someone I tried signing in the summer, unfortunately, we missed out on him for one reason or another, but the opportunity came round again and in the end we got our man. He is a really gifted football player who can play anywhere in the attacking third.

“He is someone who gets you excited when he gets on the ball and I’m sure he will be a huge fan favourite. He adds to what is already a very strong squad. I am delighted to have him on board.”
