Boston United boss Craig Elliott is confident that his array of striking options will stand the Pilgrims in good stead as the new National League North season gathers momentum, report Lincolnshire Live.

Elliott brought in experienced campaigner Craig Westcarr ahead of Saturday’s 3-0 win over FC United of Manchester on a day Andre Johnson marked his first start in United colours with his second goal in three league appearances.

With Adam Marriott and Jonny Margetts on board too, Elliott is backing his quality quartet to deliver the goods.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s scheduled home clash against Nuneaton Borough, Elliott said: “Craig is a different type of striker but I was pleased to get him in.

“I have been looking for a target man-type striker for a while and he became available on a short-term basis so we will see how that goes.

“You want competition up there. Different games will bring different barriers to win games. We will pick them as we see fit.”
