Weymouth boss Mark Molesley stressed striker Ben Thomson’s withdrawal after 12 minutes of the Terras’ 3-1 Vanarama National League South victory over Dartford was precautionary.
Thomson, Weymouth’s joint-highest scorer this season with three league goals and one assist, felt tightness in his hamstring and was replaced by Brett Williams, who went on to score twice against the Darts.
Thomson has long battled hamstring complaints and consequently Molesley hoped the forward used his “experience” to flag up the issue before the niggle worsened.
He told Echosport: “Thommo’s literally played every minute of every game, he’s been fantastic for us.
“Since I’ve been manager he’s done great for us and hardly misses any training, any game. He’s probably one of the highest minutes (played), up there with Jake McCarthy.”
