Brett Whaley has been appointed manager of Wisbech Town, replacing interim manager Kevin Ward.

Whaley is no stranger to Fenmen fans having previously occupied the Elgoods Fenland Stadium hotseat for the majority of the 2015/16 season before returning to former club Yaxley in March 2016.

Speaking to the club website, Whaley had this to say about returning to the club:

“I know we’ve got a tough task between now and the end of the season, but the opportunity to manage at this level was one I felt like I needed to take. I’m not approaching this as a 13-game job, hopefully this is the start of progression and stability for the club.”
