Harry Wheeler has challenged Maidstone to build on their clean sheet at Braintree, report Kent Online.

Saturday’s 1-0 success lifted United out of the National League relegation zone. It was just their second shut-out of the season and is something the new boss has made a point of working on.

Maidstone go to Aldershot tonight knowing victory would move them above their hosts on goal difference.

Wheeler said: “Clean sheets win leagues. You can play badly when you’re always good at keeping clean sheets and you win 1-0. It’s a massive thing.

“You can’t rely on scoring two, three, four goals every week.

“We’ve been working on it all week, drilling it in, we’ll do it again and hopefully it pays off consistently.”
