Harry Wheeler has called on Billericay Town to stop giving opponents lifelines.

Town have already conceded two penalties and picked up a couple of red cards in their opening five fixtures of the National League South campaign.

And Wheeler admits Billericay cannot keep allowing teams into games if they are to enjoy a successful season.

The Town boss said: “The frustrating point is that we keep giving teams lifelines at the moment.

“We have had players sent off twice and also given away two penalties and you can’t afford to keep doing that.

“We weren’t at our best at Hampton & Richmond Borough, but you need to go and win 1-0.

“Instead, we gave away another penalty, they scored and that gave them a lift.”
