Joint caretaker manager Harry Wheeler has decided to leave Welling United.

Chairman Mark Goldberg has issued the following statement.

“Harry Wheeler has today resigned as caretaker manager. Harrys desire for more control of first team affairs couldn’t be granted at this stage so he has decided to step down.

“Whilst we thank Harry for his efforts this season and wish him well for the future, we wish to focus on the task at hand which is retaining our National League South status.

Tristan Lewis will remain in place during this important period and we will endeavor to actively bring in an additional experienced member of staff to the management team for the final five league games”
