Chris Hardy has resigned as manager of Whitby Town.
It brings to a close a near-five-year tenure for Hardy. The Blues had been enjoying a promising 2019/20 season before it was stopped in its tracks, with Whitby 7th in the Northern Premier Division and with games in hand on all but one of the sides above them.
The Seasiders have started the new campaign with four points from their first three league games, along with exiting the FA Cup on penalties against Warrington Rylands.
Hardy told the club’s website: “There are many reasons as to why I’ve arrived at this decision, and after giving this some long and hard thought, I’m 100% confident that this is the correct decision for myself and Whitby Town Football Club.
“It’s not something I decided on the back of Tuesday night’s defeat; I have given it some good time to think about it, and now feels the right time to leave.”
