Adam Gell spoke about his delight on returning to Whitby Town after a short spell with Shildon in the Northern League Division One.

The central-midfielder left the Seasiders after featuring for Chris Hardy’s side in a number of early season games in 2017, one of his final appearances resulting in a controversial sending off against Shaw Lane at the Turnbull Ground.

The club confirmed Gell’s return on Thursday afternoon he was keen to build on an impressive start to life back with the Blues which included scoring the only goal in the 1-0 victory over Buxton on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m still buzzing to be back,” said Gell.

“I want be playing at this level for Whitby Town. It’s brilliant to be back. I didn’t personally feel my return would start with a goal and I didn’t even expect to start.

“I was really happy when picked to start. Three points was the main thing but getting a goal was the icing on the cake for me so I’m over the moon.”
