Lewis Whitehead has returned to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club Newmarket Town on a dual registration with Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central side Cambridge City.

Whitehead has made 17 appearances in total this season for City, scoring just the one goal after joining them in the summer from the Jockeys when he had enjoyed a couple of prolific campaigns, scoring in excess of 50 goals.

The attacker re-joined Newmarket in the summer of 2016 following stints with Ely City and Great Shelford and became an instant hit at the Bloorie.com stadium.

Whitehead is expected to be in the Jockeys` squad for Saturday’s home game against bottom-markers Framlingham Town.
