Mark Wilcox has stepped down from his role as Worcester City youth chairman.

Wilcox’s work has seen the club’s youth section grow to now include 20 sides, from boys U7s to reserves. Also established are the U17s, U23s and a first team on the women’s side, in addition to the existing girls’ youth teams and Wildcats sessions.

Wilcox told the club’s website: “This has been a very difficult and emotional decision, but after almost 20 years in junior football and with our youth section in very good shape, it feels like the time is right to hand over the reins.

“Whilst reflecting on my past 11 years, I will take enormous pride in what has been achieved by everyone involved throughout the club, and together we’ve really put our youth section on the map.”
