Hartlepool United have announced extended deals for Luke Williams and Ryan Johnson.
Former Middlesbrough player Williams has had injury misfortune, but manager Dave Challinor told the club’s website:
“No one doubts his ability; he is a match-winner at this level. If Luke Williams is 100% fit and firing with a full season, he’s a player who is miles above the National League; he just needs to get to the point where he can trust his body and his body doesn’t keep letting him down.”
Johnson, meanwhile, joined the club on a short-term deal at the end of September. The defender has scored against Chesterfield and Maidenhead United, with Challinor commenting:
“Ryan has come in and been really impressive. He has created a formidable partnership with Timi (Odusina) and it has been very useful to have two quick defenders.”
