Torquay United have announced that experienced striker Brett Williams will captain the club this season.
With the Gulls gearing up for life in the Vanarama National League South, the 30-year-old frontman has been handed the armband by manager Gary Owers.
The former Aldershot Town star, who had a spell at Reading without playing from 2011 to 2013, returned to Torquay in late-January from Bromley, having notched double figures for the club in 2016/17.
As the club bids to make an instant return to the fifth tier, an exclusive evening for season ticket holders and sponsors was held at Plainmoor last night. The event included a presentation on the club’s ambitious new £40million+ stadium project, which was announced last week.
