Winger Paul Rutherford has put pen-to-paper on new deal with Wrexham.

After being offered a new contract during last season, it was always the ex-Southport man’s intention to stay at the Racecourse.

“Over the moon to be back and it didn’t take much persuasion,” he said.

“I know it’s been on the table for a while, but it wasn’t a case of dragging things out. I just wanted to carry on with the football side, then get it over the line, once the season had finished.

“The manager’s preparation stared last year, as he looked towards next season and it’s an exciting time for the club.

“There’s not getting away from the fact that last year was disappointing, we want to learn from those mistakes we made and hopefully, next year will be our year.”

Rutherford completed the paperwork on a new one-year deal.
