Winger Jamie Matthews has signed for Nuneaton Town on non-contract terms.
The 22-year-old featured in Sky TV’s `Football’s Next Star` when he was a member of the FC United of Manchester’s youth team as a 17-year-old.
Matthews was the top-ranked entrant from the Manchester area in the competition, reaching the final twenty out of 7,000 original entries before being forced to withdraw with a knee injury, shattering his dreams of a contract with Inter Milan.
After the show, he earned himself a three-month trial with Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.
Since then he has featured for Colwyn Bay, Cefn Druids, Trafford, Stevenage, Northwich Victoria and most recently, Witton Albion.
