Chester FC have announced that winger Danny O’Brien has returned to the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium on loan.

The Wigan Athletic wide man will remain with the Blues on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

O’Brien, 20, had a loan spell with Chester in the previous campaign – scoring on his debut in a 3-0 away win at Altrincham.

He also assisted two goals in the incredible 8-2 home win over Aldershot last March.

Manager Jon McCarthy said: “We are delighted that Danny wanted to return to Chester.

“He made an impact in his first spell with the club with his pace and ability to run with the ball. He is an intelligent player with good technique and tactical awareness.

“He will increase competition within the squad.”

CEO Mark Maguire said: “We would like to thank Wigan for allowing this deal to happen – we really appreciate and value our relationship with them”.
