Evo-Stik Northern Premier League leaders Blyth Spartans have completed the permanent signing of Gateshead winger Adam Wrightson.

Gateshead confirmed ahead of Thursday’s deadline that they had cancelled the twenty year old’s contract to enable him to move to Spartans, where he has spent the last two months on loan.

Wrightson leaves Gateshead having made fifteen appearances for the club since making his debut against Boreham Wood in October 2015.

His loan spell at Spartans has seen him make twelve appearances, scoring two goals.

A statement on the Gateshead website said “Everyone at Gateshead would like to thank Adam for his services to the club and wish him the very best for the future”.

Wrightson should be in the Spartans squad for their home game against Rushall Olympic on Saturday, as they look to continue their impressive push for promotion in the Vanamara National League North.

With seven games left his season the Northumberland side currently sit ten points clear of second-placed Nantwich Town.
