Winsford United have signed midfielder Sam Fitton from Northwich Victoria.

Fitton told Winsford’s club website: “After speaking to the manager I felt like there would be good opportunities for myself in the team and that the team were aspiring for a successful season, which I can hopefully play an impact on.

“I feel like I will fit into the team well, once I get my fitness levels up to the standard expected by Ducko (Lee Duckworth), I feel I can bring good energy and ability to the squad in the central midfield area.”

The former Bolton Wanderers and Rochdale youngster joined up with Steve Wilkes when he was appointed Vics boss two years ago, having previously worked with him at Padiham.
