Witton Albion’s game with Crewe Alexandra was postponed following a COVID-19 case in their squad.
The Cheshire Senior Cup fixture was due to take place yesterday evening but it was decided that the match should be rearranged to prevent risk of further infection.
Witton Albion chairman John Salmon said: “The player has had no contact with any other players or staff since Saturday and there have been no reports of any other incidents amongst the first-team squad or management.”
Salmon went on to add: “Finally, we have of course reported the situation to the Northern Premier League and all future fixtures will take place as normal until we are notified otherwise.”
A new date for the cup game will be announced in due course.
