Woking and Chorley will be in the National League next season after winning their respective play-off finals.

In the National League South final, Woking overcame Welling United 1-0 at home to seal an immediate return to the fifth tier. It means success in Alan Dowson’s first season at the helm, with the decisive goal coming from Armani Little’s free-kick just before half-time.

For Chorley, it went right to the wire, as they had to beat Spennymoor Town on penalties at Victory Park. Jamie Vermiglio’s side, who were ultimately runners-up in the title race with Stockport County, took the lead on 102 minutes through Scott Leather.¬†Glen Taylor levelled for Spennymoor soon after.

Chorley keeper Matt Urwin saved three penalties in the shootout as the Magpies finally got themselves over the line.
