Josh Casey reckons he has just experienced ‘the best month of my footballing life,’ Surrey Live report.
The 27-year-old Woking skipper was recognised for his brilliant performances at left-back by picking up the National League South Player of the Month award for November.
Helping the club to the third round of the FA Cup with a superb assist for Jake Hyde’s winner was a special moment while maintaining focus and helping the Cards beat Weston-super-Mare 4-2 away on Saturday (December 8) has put the icing on the cake.
“It was a big honour to receive the award and it’s not often a defender gets recognition unless he scores goals and keeps clean sheets,” he said.
“It could have been any one of five or six players in the team and credit goes to them really. But yes, I did play well and put in some performances and I think my assist in the FA Cup helped. I also think I had my best game in a Woking shirt at Gloucester City.
“I have felt really comfortable with my game, defensively, and going forward, and am enjoying my football more than ever.”
