Woking have signed young goalkeeper that Nathan Baxter on a season-long loan from Premier League champions Chelsea from the 1st of July.
Baxter, 18, is currently on a three-year contract with the Blues and wanted to go out on loan for a full season to experience men’s competitive football.
He won an FA Youth Cup winners` medal in 2015/16, and spent the second half of last season on loan with the Cards` league rivals Solihull Moors, keeping six clean sheets in seventeen league matches.
Baxter said: “I’m here for a full season, I think it’s important when you come to a club that you fully commit to it. I want to show people that I can put together a full season of consistent National League performances. It’s a really exciting club to be at and I hope we can finish as high as possible.”
Woking manager Anthony Limbrick commented: “Nathan is a highly-regarded goalkeeper who impressed me on loan at Solihull in the second half of last season. After speaking to Chelsea, they agreed to send him to us over other options he had. I’m delighted to have Nathan here for the season and great to have a relationship with a football club like Chelsea”.
