Woking say they will be using the club’s social media to highlight community needs during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The National League club explain: “During this current crisis, as the community pulls together, we will be making occasional use of the club’s social media reach to highlight particular, practical community needs. We won’t highlight financial requests, as it can be taken for granted that most charities need additional help at this time to keep doing their work locally.

“Please support all local charities. In this instance, we would like to highlight some challenges faced by the York Road Project, a local charity doing a great work addressing issues of homelessness and rough sleeping in Woking.

“The Project has temporarily moved to the HG Wells centre to enable them to have more space. They are in desperate need of certain items.

“Can you help by raiding your cupboards or buying some extras when you shop?

Items particularly required….

Jeans (size 30-32),
Jumpers (medium & large),
Hand sanitizer,
Individual coffee & sugar sachets,
Small boxes of cereal (eg variety packs),
Individual UHT sachets,
Pot Noodles (or similar),
Cereal bars,
Shampoo and/ or conditioner

All donations should please be taken to Woking United Reformed Church carpark in White Rose Lane on Wednesdays between 10am and 12 noon. Please adhere to social distancing at all times and place your items in bags.”
