Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Diogo Jota has been delving into non-league football during the current COVID-19-enforced season suspension.

The 23-year-old forward, who has scored 15 times for Nuno Espírito Santo’s team in 2019/20, has been leading from the front just lately for AFC Telford United.

He told The Guardian of his Shropshire adventure: “I happen to be training Telford United on Football Manager.

“I’m already in 2029.”

The Portugal international did not reveal which division he was leading the Bucks in, though 2029 would make the ex-Atlético Madrid youngster 32 (pre-December 4th). Perhaps something to look forward to for those down at New Bucks Head when this decade starts to draw to a close…
