The lower levels of the non-league football pyramid have decided to end the current season and void all results.
For Workington Reds it is particularly disappointing given the team’s title prospects. Danny Grainger’s side currently sit top of the Northern Premier League Division One North West league, which is level four of the non-league system.
Workington Reds director Steve Durham said: “It would have been Reds’ first title in the premier league if we’d won.
“To be denied that opportunity, it’s a bombshell really, it’s devastating.”
